So, much has happened since the last time we talked about Jack Spade Many of our elected representatives seem to be guilty of sedition, as our parks close and non-essential government works are on furlough while our republican statesmen lower the bar to what seems to be an all or nothing repeat of the end of segregation in 1960's Alabama This is a good example of why it's so important to show Jack Spade that it takes more than money and connections to get what you want in a democracy Did you know that 500 million dollars has been spent on ads against "Obamacare"? 20% or more of that was spent on attack ads FOR REPUBLICANS who were initially against this outrageous shut down There is little or nothing we can do about the shut down today, but we can think about who we voted for and where we spent our campaign money and time resources last election Not that any of you would have had an opportunity to vote for or against Sen Cruz or Sen Bainer but the conservative money machine is aiming their bile at members of their own party who won't toe the line

That is exactly what is happening in SF

If you won't play the way big money wants to play, you don't play Period End of discussion What is the SF money machine? It's the Willie Brown downtown power machine that holds nothing sacred and just "bulldoze and build" with zero long term plan, zero agenda other then money today and zero culpability Then you find out that these developers don't even live in SF It's just a place they come to get money Why isn't mayor Lee even talking about the eviction epidemic? Why isn't Supervisor Wiener even merely acknowledging the simple fact that the voters in 2006 voted a ban on chain stores to help lessen the burdens on small business? Why isn't anyone coming up with any solutions? Why?

Because they don't give a fuck There is no money or power in it for them There is no advancement when you go against the money machine

How? How can people be so short-sighted and so stupid How can they not see that if normal rent for a 1,000 square foot storefront is $5,000 that you're going to have to drive to Milpetis to get your shoes re-soled Who can be so stupid as to allow Jack Spade to parade around as a "Small, independent retailer" while they have sales IN THE BILLIONS!!!!

How? Why? What do we do?

We have to dig our heels in and say: "No This is our process You have to work within the process " That's it We have to hold Jack Spade to the same conditions that all other Chain Stores have to go through Now, I'm not going to say that Jack Spade is guilty of sedition, like Sen Cruz Lets call it something else, shall we?

How about: SEDITION LIGHT?

When something isn't the way you want it to be in a democracy, and you're unhappy about it, you can at least say the system works If you get a parking ticket for double parking for just 20 seconds, rejoice the system works If you have to pay taxes for roads but you don't own a car that is also the system working It's a system A complicated system In this fight, we are working within the system to try to show that the system works And this Wednesday night is our last hearing before the appeals board

There are 5 judges We need a vote of 4-1 in our favor So far, we have had two hearings that were 3-2, in our favor We need that one guy to bend

WE NEED PEOPLE TO COME OUT

You don't need to speak One of us will be on the stand and ask that everyone stand up who is for upholding the process of requiring chain stores have a planning commission hearing You stand That's it We need to show "the will of the people"
