What is the All Worlds Fair you ask?

We are crafting a grand art event to take place Feb 22nd & 23rd in the absolutely magnificent Old Mint building — hands down the coolest building in SF Massive Endless Exquisite And it’s OURS!!!! With the help of awesome artists like you we will transform the Old Mint into a collage of creativity in the form of a Worlds Fair of imaginative worlds and cultures beyond our own! Aliens, hollow earth denizens, figures from alternative history, extra-dimensional entities, etc… • Denizens of Hollow Earth showcasing what all us top earth dwellers are missing • Alien diplomats from the Crab Nebula teaching people how to do the Crab Dance • Communists from Alternate Earth #234 who just want to be loved • Extra-dimensional librarians cataloging attendees • The last of a unnamed lost culture performing their last ceremony before they pass on • Alien life forms, cursed Romani caravans, Spanish alchemists, Gnomish dancers, vengeful spirits of the Russian aristocracy, chroniclers’ of forgotten realms, cheeky swindlers and pranksters …whatever your vision is!

So it’s like the Lost Horizon Night Market or a Haunted House or something? Yes, but it's also much more Here are some specifics: • This will be a ticketed event with the hopes mainly of breaking even after rent/insurance/security/etc This is a labor of love for all the organizers Depending on expenses and ticket sales, we may have some left over to help artists pay for some of their costs

• The building imparts a mood all it’s own — the downstairs is a number of vault like rooms of varying sizes and the upstairs are huge ballroom like rooms

o Downstairs is a bustling exhibit hall filled with interactive exhibits from anywhere and everywhere and nowhere — viewing curios, filling out extra-dimensional library card, alien tea party

o Upstairs Upstairs the mood is quite different While we are still sorting out the plan, as it is any upstairs exhibits will be more performance or scenic in nature with less hustle and bustle At a set point in time during the hour Guests have upstairs, the lights will be dimmed and any upstairs exhibits will need to shut down as our closing performance begins We are in discussions with a few dance troupes for this to perform this ending climactic scene — we are open to talking to other troupes if you know of any who might be interested

o Please note you don’t have to run a room if you have an experience that is a roaming experience that is great too Bizzare food vendors, selling watches that tell Alterian time, 3 1/2 card monty all good stuff

• The audience can wander however they like but only one floor at a time They have an hour on each floor Starting with the bottom floor, we will let a group of 200 or so enter After an hour of free flow exploration, we will move everyone to the upper floor and bring in a second group of 200 or so people Once they have explored the upstairs they will be lead to the exit with much fan fare This is repeated for each new group

So this sounds awesome how can I get involved? We are looking for artisans, performers, sculptures, dancers, tech geek artists, musicians, and other people who make awesome happen To get involved…

• If you don’t have a solid idea we will let you know when the next drink/meet-up is so you can talk to other artists to brainstorm and collaborate with

• If you have an idea for what you (and your team) would like to make happen please use our sign-up form

• We also have a mailing list for artist leads and co-leads and other major players If you are involved in this capacity then one of the art wranglers will add you to the list

FAQ • How much time will we get to set up at the Old Mint? You will have at least one solid day to set up at the Old Mint

• Is there a workshop where I can build my set? Some workspace for building sets prior to this may be available at Chez Poulet or other spaces

• Will we make any money from this? This is a labor of love for all the organizers Depending on expenses and ticket sales, we may have some left over to help artists pay for some of their materials costs — we cannot promise anything at this time

• How are rooms signed up for? We will be having multiple walk-thrus of the Old Mint During this time, artists will get to put their name down for their first/second/third choice rooms Final decision will be made by the main organizers

• I love building art but hate transporting, can you help? Yes! There will be a large moving van at our disposal to relocate your art and gear for you We want to help out artists as much as we can, leaving them to focus on their exhibits

• How do giant events like this work? Well we make it all up as we go Please join us
