Chicken: This Saturday, rally at the Arboretum Take Back Our Parks!!!!

From: "Chicken:" <chickenjohn@gmail.com>
Date: March 31st 2011

Our parks are being run to bankrupscy by a bunch of crooks and criminals. The privitazation that they are denying is a prostitution of our democratic process. The commisioners that are supposed to be memebers of the public overseeing the staff of our civic entity are stacked with fucking developers and inside scumbags to just rubber stamp anything. They are SELLING parkland to developers. They are giving out 20 year leases to after school programs that cost $1,100 a month per kid. Last year that program was free and someone had a job. This year, the clubhoses are all empty and everyone got fired. Because we have no money, right? Right? Tighten the belt, right? All the fat fuckers got raises. They hired 13 more admin jobs that pay over $100K a year. All got raises in benifits by 30% as well. This is criminal corruption. These people need to be fired and brought up on charges. They want to put a food court in Dolores Park. They want to put fences and charge admission to everything. They are seeing parks as "revenue generators". We have to stop them. You have to show up, with your body. You have to write letters. This summer is going to be a bloody battle. If you do some research, you will be disgusted. Like I am. Your gonna wanna puke. Me too. Maybe we should go puke on them. Fuckers. Stealing our parks. It's treason, I say... TREASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rally to Stop

ARBORETUM FEE

Saturday April 2nd, 2011

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Strybing Arboretum Main Gate

(9TH AVE & LINCOLN WAY)

Save this Public Garden from

Permanent Fees, Gates and ID Checks

On April 6, 2011, the Budget Committee of the Board of Supervisors will be making

a crucial decision on the future of the Arboretum non-resident fee,

either free admissions for all or a permanent non-resident fee.

We ask you to SUPPORT ordinance 110113, sponsored by Supervisor Avalos, Mirkarimi, Mar, Kim and Campos who seek to use Prop N tax revenues as a sustainable solution to support a free public garden and end the non-resident fee.

We ask you to OPPOSE ordinance 110225 sponsored by Mayor Lee for a permanent fee.

After 7 months the fee has been a failure. Only $54,800 out of a promised $250,000 has been collected. Moreover, attendance, based on Rec & Park  figures, has declined sharply, with

non-resident visitors down 70% and resident visitors down 36% from pre-fee estimates.
