She’s sick. Lyme Disease. It was misdiagnosed for too long, now she needs to do an IV antibiotic therapy.  This is serious stuff, and it’s probably scary and it’s going to be painful and shitty. This is her summer. But she can beat this thing, and “get her shimmy back”. It's a heart wrenching tragedy when an art space is lost. This January we said goodbye to Twinspace, a dance studio and event space on Mission St. by 18th. It was a rad space with a great community. But as it goes with leases in SF, they had no protections and when their lease term ended the landlord chose not to renew. They hired lawyers, they jumped up and down but the marketing company across the hall wanted more space. And that marketing company now has all the space they need to plot and plan to get us to buy more crap. And so it goes. Elizabeth and Melissa (the twins) spent a shit load of money on lawyers and consultants and moving the stuff out. The last few months were in flux and she lost most of her tennants. It's a spiral. You've all seen it before. We are giving her use of the Chez Poulet this Sunday to put on a show featuring all the talent from that lovely space and I'm going to cook a dinner. We're going to have a great show and great food and have a fabulous time and champion the twins that showed up and kicked down and took a few punches. And we are going to try to restore some of their savings which they spent trying to keep the place open. Here is the write up for the event. Please join us. So Rev. Billy and his 30 person choir and band are in town as this mail goes out annoying the security at Wells Fargo bank and doing other actions to make a difference in the world. Does it actually make a difference? Well, yes. Not to you, you jaded fuck... but to other people it absolutely makes a difference. But that's extra credit from the show he's doing tomorrow night. He just wrote a book: The End of the Wolrd. It's a good book. He is here supporting it. Getting the word out. Beating the bushes. Trying to get people to listen to his message of tolerance and eco-logic. But that book... that's just on top of the show that he's doing tomorrow night... The show is the thing that you want to go to. You can buy the book there if ya want... but the show is really something to behold. There is an army of people singing. They travel with these people. They wear choir robes, because they are a choir. There is a band. There are sermons. Solos. Dancing. Points are made. Arguments considered. And sometimes; understanding is achieved.
