NIMBY, for those of you who do not know, is a arts/build space in Oakland. It's huge. Cranes, forklifts, containers, art junk, tools, idiots, crap everywhere... you get the picture. We build Camp Tipsy (and everything else) there.
This year, the Camp Tipsy build weekend is June 16th and 17th at NIMBY. Mark your calendar, build a boat. Get all the chicks...
But the world could be less one NIMBY, if we don't help out every once in a while... this is one of those times. It's an ambitious project: manage 75,000 square feet of bullshit and try to break even. It's no shock to me that once a year or so there is a fundraising campaign to keep the thing going. I'm happy to help out any way I can...
You see, causes that are near and dear to our hearts have yearly fundraisers. Things like NIMBY have them as well, they are just not organized enough to call them "yearly fundraisers". So we have to look at this like we are members of a club, and that club has a yearly dues payment. That's really what is going on here...
I'm gonna give NIMBY $250. Because I just raised $44,000 selling books and ANYTHING coupons. And since I'm ten times the idiot you are, you should paypal them $25 today. They have a Indy a go go thingy that ends tomorrow, they are behind on their rent for months on end and their landlord is talking about drastic measures...
There are about 5,000 people on this list. If everyone gave $3 that would be 1 months rent. Ouch. I know...
How about if eveyrone does the best they can? That would be great. Lets show some support, Snook the guy who runs it is pulling his hair out. Whatever you give to NIMBY, you will get back tenfold as far as the whole "world you wanna live in" thing.
Do it.

This email lists is that of Showman Chicken John of San Francisco. You can keep up with his shenanigans and shows by being on this list. He also sends out some personal writing and such. He posts a few times a week at most. You sound much more important when you speak about yourself in the 3rd person. At least I do when I talk about me as 'him'.
